Who we are

EbolaMap is an independent public-information website available at ebolamap.org. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by WHO, CDC, Africa CDC, ECDC, MSF, or any government agency. Privacy enquiries can be sent to contact@ebolamap.org.

Information you provide

If you email us, we receive the address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information only to respond, investigate a correction, or handle the request. Do not send medical records or other sensitive personal information.

Analytics and local storage

Google Analytics is configured with Google Consent Mode v2. Analytics storage is denied until you select “Accept analytics.” If you reject non-essential storage, aggregate consent signals may still be sent without analytics cookies. A local-storage entry records your choice so the banner does not appear on every page.

  • Analytics provider: Google LLC.
  • Purpose: understand aggregate traffic and improve content and navigation.
  • Choice retention: until you clear browser storage or change your choice using “Privacy settings” in the footer.
  • Advertising storage, ad user data, and ad personalization are currently denied.

Advertising disclosure

EbolaMap may apply to display Google AdSense advertisements. If advertising is enabled, this policy will be updated before ads are served, and visitors in regions where consent is required will be shown a Google-certified consent management message. Advertising will be visually distinguished from editorial content.

Third-party resources

Pages link to official health agencies and may load map, chart, font, or media resources from third-party services. Those providers process technical information such as IP address and browser details under their own policies. External links do not imply endorsement.

Retention, rights, and contact

We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to answer or document a correction. Depending on your location, you may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold. Email contact@ebolamap.org with “Privacy request” in the subject line.

Children and medical information

The site is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect information from children. EbolaMap does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services and should not receive patient-identifying information.

Policy changes

Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised update date.
