DRC's 17th Ebola outbreak, confirmed Bundibugyo ebolavirus. Latest data (26 June, ECDC): DRC 1,155 confirmed cases, 304 confirmed deaths; Uganda 20 confirmed cases, 2 deaths; total 1,175 cases, 306 deaths (CFR 26%). WHO DON 608 (19 June) reports 896 confirmed / 232 deaths in DRC and 19 / 2 in Uganda, plus 1 probable death. Outbreak has spread to 31+ health zones across Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu; Ituri accounts for >91% of cases, with hotspots Bunia (247+), Mongbwalu (195+), Rwampara (195+) and Nyankunde (68+). North Kivu CFR remains alarmingly high. International export cases: one U.S. healthcare worker medically evacuated to Germany, one imported case in France (24 June). Contact tracing ongoing for ~6,470 contacts; follow-up rate 63% (target 95%). 16+ health workers confirmed infected. No approved Bundibugyo vaccine or treatment. UNICEF launched a Level 3 corporate emergency response for the DRC/Uganda Ebola outbreak. As of 11 June: DRC 676 confirmed cases and 136 deaths; Uganda 19 confirmed cases and 2 deaths. Official Ebola figures revised: DRC now reports 380 confirmed cases and 60 confirmed deaths; Uganda 15 confirmed cases and 1 death. The fall from earlier 1,000+ suspected cases reflects better lab data ruling out other illnesses (malaria, etc.) — not reduced transmission. Contact tracing only ~45% of contacts (WHO requires 90%). A burial team was attacked this week in South Kivu, forced to abandon a coffin. US adds $38m bringing total US Ebola funding to $200m+.
